Lighthouse can handle bookings with up to six legs. This powerful feature enables customers to plan, book and pay for trips spanning multiple destinations.

Multilingual Booking Dialog

All texts and descriptions in the system that is shown to the end user is easy to translate to local languages.

My Pages

From My Pages a customer can retrieve all his bookings. By choosing a booking the customer can change the booking, cancel or check-in.

Packaging

Support to dynamically set up and sell products like Transports, Mini-cruises, Daytrips and Hotel packages.

Onboard resources

Cabins, meals, lounges etc. with support for media like images and videos.

Additional sales

Cancellation Insurance (external provider or internal), Travel Insurance, Choose Cabin Number, WiFi, Guaranteed Seat, Fare Guarantee or any other on-board service.

PDF tickets

It is very easy to create and maintain PDF-documents in the system. E.g., Dynamic PDF with ticket included in the reservation confirmation email.

Payment

Lighthouse integrates with your payment provider for card payments, invoicing and direct bank payment.

Automatic Refund

Lighthouse has functionality to automatically calculate cancellation fees and if the customer is eligible for money back, the system could automatically perform a refund without manual work.

Agent booking

Agent booking is supported from Online Travel Agents or Gateway providers using the industry standard FerryGateway protocol.

Low Fare Finder

Lighthouse has an integrated real time low fare finder making it easy for your customers to find the best prices. Any price changes are immediately reflected in the low fare finder.

The Call Centre Booking is made with productivity in mind.

Create bookings

The extended functionality in this dialogue offers the Call Centre staff great features for creating bookings for different markets, different packages and add all products that an end customer can add with the customer booking application.

Search

Find any booking with ease by searching on name, vehicle registration number, phone numbers, email, route, date etc.

Adjust prices

Call Centre users with the right functional authority can adjust prices

Send price proposals

Send a price proposal at any stage in the booking process and just continue with it as a “real” booking when the customer accepts the proposal

See events

As a customer adds or removes items from the cart and move through the various booking steps, all changes are recorded into our event log. Our detailed log shows every change (or event) of a booking at a any given point in time making it easier to track down issues and to better understand your customers. As the log is based on actual booking events, we can always guarantee a correct representation. E.g., “Traveler details added”, “Proposal selected”, “Confirmed”, “Confirmation mail sent” etc.

There is support in the system to automatically get a report of sensitive customer data and also clean that data from the system if the customer so wishes.

Market setup

Multiple markets with different currencies and default languages are supported out of the box. This feature also allows you to customize the look and feel of the booking dialog to adapt it for a certain customer base. Setup packages like Economy, Flexi and Premium to dynamically get prepopulated offers to customers. Setup offer codes, cancellation rules, travel insurances, cancellation insurances etc. per market

Destination setup

Setup destinations with different bookable destination add-ons, e.g., excursions, entrance tickets.

Hotel setup

Easy setup of hotels by adding your negotiated hotel contract directly into the system and use this to present and make bookable in the dialogue.

Administration of users and roles

Flexible user access management. Manage who should have access to different functions withing the Backoffice application.

Lighthouse pricing is easy to setup and launch to sale while still offering many possibilities.

Simple Pricing

The pricing model in Lighthouse is both simple and flexible, giving you the best of both worlds. We think you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to use while still offering the flexibility needed for tomorrow. Prices can be changed any time while previously confirmed and ongoing bookings are left untouched.

Exchange rates

Prices can either be administered in multiple currencies or administered in a single currency and automatically converted to the currency of the end user.

Hedged currencies

The system has support for hedged currencies where you can have different exchange rates for different time periods.

Automated pricing

Lighthouse is built for automated pricing. A ferry operator can have its own logic for automated pricing or use the Lighthouse module for automated pricing.

Check-in and boarding

Check-in and boarding.

Checkin

Configurable online check-in. Customers can check in online or at a service desk of their choosing. You configure the allowed timespans. Support for kiosks where most foot passengers can check in themselves.

Boarding

With a user-friendly boarding user interface you can board passengers and vehicles with ease using scanning or manual data entry. There is support to integrate with hardware to read vehicle number plates (ANPR device).

Passport Scanning

Full support for routes that need to gather passport information. Passports can either be scanned or manually entered.

Passenger List

The system has built in functionality to send passenger lists with API, Secure FTP (SFTP) or Mail.

Technology

Architecture

Lighthouse event driven architecture gives you a complete audit log of everything that have happened in the system. This includes events for all master data, booking, customers etc.

Integration by design

Backend capabilities are exposed through an API, making creation of new clients a breeze. The booking and Backoffice dialogues all use the same API as any custom built applications ensuring consistency all the way.

Communication

Support for communcation gateways with external parties like travel agents and gateway providers. Ferry Gateway is the standard protocol.

Scalable

Lighthouse handles the load with automatic scaling and load balancing.

Modularity

We have made development, deployment and hosting easy by splitting up parts of our system. Our system is divided into Applications, Modules and Sub-modules. Modules have their own data store and communicate with other modules with the same API as our clients. All of this to ensure a modularized system instead of a monolith.

Automated testing

Making sure our application works as expected is at the top of our list. We have both high-level integration tests as well as low level unit tests to ensure this. Tests run automatically as part of our continuous integration suite to ensure that quality is built in.
